Lemon Concentrate/ Syrup for Shandy & Lemonade

Lemon Concentrate/ Syrup

4 large lemons, juiced (1 cup juice)

1 cup water

1 cup granulated sugar

Rinds from 2 lemons, sliced thin

1. Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan over med-high heat and stir until sugar is dissolved
2. Add lemon peel slices to water, bring to a boil
3. Reduce heat to med-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 15 minutes
4. a more concentrated/ syrupy consistency keep simmering until reduced by ¼
5. Use a slotted spoon to scoop out the peels and discard them
6. Combine the sugar-water & lemon juice, chill before use


To Make Shandy:

1. pour ¼- ½ cup lemon concentrate into a large glass (I used ½ cup)
2. pour a bottle of wheat beer into that glass

To Make Watermelon Lemonade

1. purée some watermelon (½ cup pureed = a heaping cup cubed)
2. add it to double the amount of lemon concentrate (1 cup)
3. pour over frozen watermelon cubes
4. add vodka
5. drink…
