Root Beer BBQ Sauce

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 small onion, minced

2 teaspoons chili powder

2 tablespoons worcestershire

½ cup apple cider vinegar

½ cup chicken broth

½ cup light brown sugar

¾ cup ketchup

1 (6oz) can tomato paste

1 (12oz) can Root Beer

Salt & pepper to taste

1. Heat butter over medium-high heat, cook garlic & onion until soft, approx. 4 minutes

2. Add remaining ingredients, bring to a boil for 10 minutes

3. Reduce heat, and simmer until reduced/ thickened, approx. 30 minutes

4. If you’re a bad mincer… you can pulse it in a food processor to smooth it out


Makes 3 ½ cups (56 tablespoons), 1061 calories total
