Strawberry Raspberry Sorbet

Adapted from Home Cooking Memories

 

11 oz strawberries, washed and hulled

5 oz raspberries, washed

1 cup sugar

½ cup water

¼ cup lemon juice

2 tablespoons vodka

Pinch salt

1. Over medium heat, bring water and sugar to a boil, and then simmer until sugar is dissolved, remove from heat and cool almost completely
2. Pulse strawberries & raspberries in a food processor until chunky, add cooled syrup, lemon juice, salt and vodka, and then process until smooth
3. Pour mixture into shallow metal pans, freeze
4. Every 30 minutes, break up chunks and stir with a fork, return to freezer, and repeat until completely frozen
5. Store in a covered freezer safe container
